We're on hiatus until this Winter, but in the meantime, Rex, D-day, & Dj Beth wanted to share some of their Burning Man 2017 experience with you. Accuracy Third met Narc-Narc, hung with tons of our listeners, and accosted Friend-of-the-Show Xeno. We sampled some of Burning Man's best and worst bars, the three of us raver-dance with raver toys, and do we have a Rough Burn? We do. You can't be a nerd if you dress all in black, there's a sweet triumph for everyone, something terrible happened, and we need you to volunteer for Burning Man. Patreon? We're on that shit now, and we're on a lot of other stuff, too. Also, extra audio.

Passing on the culture of Black Rock City to Burning Man Virgins can be a fraught process. You remember being invited to this awesome party and then being told ad nauseam how to act right, right? Right. So to save you the hassle of sounding like a pedantic, know-it-all culture-jerk, the Accuracy Third Podcast has collected a cornucopia of voices to give your Burning Virgins a taste of what they're getting into, culturally. If you're looking for something with more of a how-do-I-survive flavor, we made an Unofficial Burning Man Survival Guide last year, which you can find at our website or wherever you get your podcasts. See you at the Burn, Birgins!

A quick update from D-Day, Rex, and D-Beth about how Nevada's laws are not Federal laws, and how you're going to have to deal with both on your way to playa. Also, a little gift we like to call "mouth noise galore."

In our season finale, we talk to The God Box brigade, Darakshan, Miles, & Yay about what the phone booth known as Talk to God Box is all about. Get ready for (in no particular order) Japanese God, Little-Girl God, Take-No-Shit God, the God of Unconditional Love, the God of Gay Marriage, and the God in the Box. The God malfunction, the ballad of Tasty Pickle, the Talk to Bog Bog concept is coming soon, and a DPW receives a gift from God. Also, The World's Best Knock-Knock joke. Plus, there's 2 weeks left in our Kickstarter to be better podcasters for you, the people who are reading this. Sueno, architect of the the g-d Temple of Promise, tells D-Day & Rex all about designing, building, and burning giant art at burning man. How the Trojan Horse LITERALLY put the cart before the horse. A great idea for a theme camp, what sketch-up is good for, and the Alien Siege Machine nearly kills its creators. We think you'll probably experience more bugs at regionals, even if there is a river. The overwhelming lightness of being Argentinian. Plus, you should read your ticket, because nothing is up to code in Black Rock City. Also, have you heard about Kickstarter? Apparently it's a thing for funding, which is what we need, pleasies and thanks you! You can find out more about the incredible swag and gifts that can be yours right here: http://goo.gl/xJ2vaV

A far-ranging conversation with our new friend and ambassador, Mother of Goats. (You'll hear about her goat, Frank, in an episode next season.) The history of Camp Orphan Endorphin, created by and for strangers with no camp affiliation. A little about Hug Deli, and probably a little too much about Annie. (The musical. With Daddy Warbucks. 'cause Rex.) The importance of toilet paper. Don't let just anybody play music at your camp. Also, church of the ceiling cat is an actual thing. #BirthdayThursday

Carolina Sunshine is a fabulous engineer who makes a lot of things and solves a lot of problems with trash. There's academicizing Burning Man, the playa problems of Dan Love, a lot of saying "trebuchet" in not a lot of time, and much mouth noises and singing. Carolina Sunshine gives us the Reno 411 on the City jail, before we discover the biggest betrayal of all.  We invite you to party with Accuracy Third on playa, because we'll be on playa, partying with or without you. Also, Rex thinks he could probably cook some meth, so send him your recipes!

The episode we've been calling "DPW Dirty," which means we consider "S02 E09 - Fuck You & Your Hug" the clean episode. There's violence and naughty things from a whole bunch of anonymized argumentative DPW bastards ... except for Friend-of-the-Show Xeno, who takes his credit as a matter of course. It's fuck-ups, weirdos, bikers, and outlaws laying down together. DPW on Christmas, plug & play camps, choir practice, landmines, & adult stories from your adult children. Remember: all of this stuff happened a long, long time ago, to people who can no longer be implicated for their misdeeds. Also, a recognizable soundscape throughout.

Beth & Rex "twinkle that yo" at the Burning Man Global Leadership Conference, which is as familiarly corporate as any conference you've seen. But our people dress better, and our hair is as awesome as our tattoos are bad. We talk about several regionals, Kostume Kult, and how we're doing it wrong. A safety plan for tornadoes. D-Day already knows about permaculture. When to say yes. Blazing Swan is not a bush doof, and Beth exhibits impeccable consent with a previous guest.

Friend-of-the-Show Xeno moderates a roundtable of DPW hardcases: Monk, Gage, and Frisky Whisky (from S02 E07.) Monk has opinions about voluntourism, worker’s rights, and penetrations. Gage finds his way through the red tape, while Frisky Whisky discovers what’s in the bucket. Friend-of-the-Show Xeno shares his management philosophy and the transgressive chicanery he got into at Flipside. There’s the first installment of the Accuracy Third Glossary segment, and pretty much everybody has multitool on them. Find out about the awful shit we drank, and if you want t-shirts, I guess we’ll design and print them.

Sydney grew up deep in burning man culture, so she was a pretty jaded burner when she was still in short pants. Take a trip through Syd's formative years, back when her dad, El Queso Grande, ran the greatest little bike shop in Black Rock City. Beth & Syd have some tent catastrophes in common. Big art? Big art! Coyote is like a rattlesnake. Also, we have the name of D-Day’s porno.

Relay & Frisky Whisky are joining Accuracy Third today with Friend-of-the-Show Xeno, as we delve into some really terrible things that happened at Black Rock City. Beth gets hurt by some great friends in quick succession. Water & pain meds do not help Relay’s headache. Frisky Whisky learns a lesson about gravity. Basically, some truly awful shit happens to everyone in Xeno’s orbit. D-Day makes some truly distressing noises, because he can’t control his empathy. In our first Playa Post segment, Rex reads a listener’s comment, who refutes our 2015 deep Playa experience. Also, we get promise rings!

A couple of stories today: Phil tells us all about being adjacent to an iconic moment of Burning Man photography. Knettles & Pants, gentlemen hoboes, talk us through setting off on a year-long quest of being stinky and traveling around. Also, D-Day doesn’t know about Burning Man, and Malört tastes like earwax.

Burning Man's Publisher, Jon, calls in to Accuracy Third from Israel, because that’s where he is. D-Day, Rex, & Beth hear a bit about Israel’s regional burn, Midburn, before we delve into the inner workings of the seasonal nature of being a Burning Man employee. Believe it or not, they’ve got a nonstandard corporate culture there. We also get a great story on how Black Rock City is objectively better than the streets of San Francisco, plus you’ll hear how you can get your very own job with the Burning Man Organization.

Moose works for Gate, and she’s chatting with D-Day & Rex about goddamn near everything insider-Burning Man. You’ll hear all about the bullshit that goes down behind the scenes of Black Rock City, and then you’ll hear why Gate can’t have nice things. All that, a whole lot more, plus we’ll tell you how to volunteer for The Man.

D-Day, Rex, and Beth introduce the episode discussing non-monogamy, because we’ve got stories from one of the Orgy Dome’s organizers, Lazlo. He tells D-Day and Rex about the ins and outs and all the intimate parts of the Orgy Dome experience, including consent, ethical hedonism, and where the hell it is, anyway.

They are the guardians of one of the longest running continuous rituals of Black Rock City. The Lamplighters bring light to the playa, as well as their legendary 21 hour-a-day bar. Learn about how to volunteer for The Man, the parties they don't throw anymore and why, different uses for The Temple, and everything you didn't know about the rich history of the Lamplighters told to you by one of their own, a delightful man named Moonbeam. There's a lot about lanterns in this episode, though you'll find that D-Day and Rex can't manage to describe one.

For those who know The Volare, neither it nor its owner need any introduction. For those who don't, The Volare is Black Rock City's very own Batmobile/Chitty Chitty Bang Bang hybrid, and Coyote is its Dr. Frankenstein, as well as the superintendent of Black Rock City. He's the man behind the men and women of DPW, the author of Coyote Nose: Tales of the Early Desert Carnies of Burning Man, and an honest to goodness legend of the Playa, depending on who you talk to (D-Day & Rex talked to Coyote.)

Accuracy Third is a podcast collecting an oral history of Black Rock. We are looking for your very best stories from and about That Thing In The Desert. This episode introduces your hosts, Rex & D-Day, and our illustrious producer, Drunk Beth. Starring Smoke Daddy & Andale’.

Jan 15, 2017

Rex & D-Day interview Violet, who has a lot to say about different facets of passion at Burning Man, with her friend and D-Day’s wife, Creampie, piping up in the background, while Drunk Beth arrives to the recording session a little too late to contain D-Day’s poor voice modulation.

Jan 15, 2017

Drunk Beth’s boyfriend Jon tells Rex and D-day about his playa wedding and how burning man is like juggling festivals. There’s a lot about everyone’s weddings, actually, before Creampie shares a story about some very exclusive swings

Jan 15, 2017

O-Ring Von Brownflower talks to D-Day, Rex, and Drunk Beth about the life choices that you wouldn’t expect would bring you to Black Rock City. There’s also a quick discussion about non-standard Burning Man kites, and then boy, do we hear about an impressive playa injury.
